Ruby on Rails Meetup - March 2025

On March 28, the Ruby on Rails community in Kathmandu gathered for an engaging meetup hosted by Gurzu Inc. The event brought together developers of all experience levels to share knowledge, exchange ideas, and strengthen the local Ruby ecosystem.
The meetup featured three insightful talks:
- Prepsa Kayastha discussed Gurzu’s journey with horizontal database sharding in Rails.
- George Maharjan presented on how Solid Cache improves performance and scalability in Rails 8.
- Santosh Shah explored integrating Large Language Models (LLMs) with Ruby applications.
Attendees also enjoyed virtual messages from global Ruby leaders, including Nezir Zahirović, Gautam Rege, Sajjad Umar, Lucian Ghinda, Yaroslav Shmarov, and Irina Nazarova, who shared encouragement and insights for the local community.
The meetup highlighted the passion, curiosity, and collaborative spirit of Ruby developers in Kathmandu, showing that while the community is local, it is deeply connected to the global Ruby network.
